Is there a finer name in all of financial services than Sherwood Dodge?

Dodge is not, as one might imagine, a fictional character from an Elmore Leonard novel but a leading figure in private equity. He’s on the move, too, after being appointed the new global head of private equities at the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, after 25 years at GE, most recently with its auto finance and credit card joint ventures with Hyundai.

Google ‘Sherwood Dodge’ and the top hit is a Dodge motor dealership in a suburb of Edmonton, Canada. However, further research reveals Dodge has enjoyed a successful career across three continents. He is an interesting hire to an already-strong bench of private equity expertise at Adia. The sovereign fund has always been an early mover in alternative assets and may be bolstering its team at a time when public markets are looking increasingly perilous.
